Good overall experience, rented through VRBO, emmons realty commnicated well and often, everything stated was accurate and the house met all (7 people) needs Great A/C, easy walk to beach, pool and house was clean upon arrival, great neighborhood and we had good weather - what else could you ask for

a lovely older home with a few issues
The home is beautiful and all wood inside. Bathrooms appear newly updated and work well. The pool was lovely and always cool. Our only issues were the outside area behinds the pool which was full of weeds and needed a table of some kind to eat outdoors. It would be more usable with a solid surface of some kind. The other major issue was the upstairs air conditioning which did not work at all our first 2 nights. A repair man did get there in the evening after I called in the morning and got it fixed but it took most of the night to cool down. It may need to be replaced. The kitchen was good but the wine fridge had a note that it does not work. Location was excellent for access to beach down a trail

july 4th family vacation
Property management company were very attentive to our needs. AC no working properly, would suggest replacing it before renting to another family. We paid a lot if money for a house without proper ac. House definitely needs updating. No blinds on windows where sun is beating in. Windows that do not close all the way, letting in hot air. Gas grill needs a good cleaning so that it works better. Pool was fantastic! Emmons realty took very good care of us by installing 2 windows unit air conditioners. Was quite hot upstairs but we made the best of it by running numerous fans.

desperately in need of upgrades.
This house is old but can be rescued if they would spend the money to renovate it. The furniture is old , the doors don’t shut properly, the ac does not cool. We had to call the realty company just about every day to send someone over to work on the air conditioner. It kept freezing that was annoying along with being hot as heck, it ruined our stay. The vents are old and don’t blow much air. The entire upstairs was so hot! And all bedrooms were upstairs except one. needs new beds and furnishings. The futon room is awful, feels like your sleeping on bare springs. Outdoor furniture is worn out. The only nice things in the house were the fridge and dishwasher. We also saw several roaches big and small ones too, in the kitchen. The wine fridge was useless it didnt work either, but we just didn’t complain because Dealing with Ac was enough. Washer and dryer old. Nice yard and pool, which was the one good thing. We will not rent this home again. The realty company was attentive to our ac problem, but it just couldn’t be repaired during our stay, we were there for 5 hot days! once again the realty co did their best to get us comfortable, thankyou to them! And They gave us a small portion back due to the problems we had. I think they should have at least refunded half of what we paid, but my husband and I were just glad to get something back. Location was fine, close to beach. I would not recommend this property.

a big, comfortable house in a great location
We enjoyed this house very much. It’s comfortable. It’s in a great location. There’s space for ten adults. The Good • Great pool. We had it heated and it was just right. • The rooms are big. Lots of space. • The kitchen was better equipped than most rentals with plates, flatware and cooking implements. There’s a nice big butcher block island. • TVs in every bedroom. • Great Old Florida vibe throughout the house. • The walk to the beach is short. The beach is wonderful and has very few people hanging out. • There was a nice stash of beach towels. • The washer and dryer work well. • We loved the big dining table that everyone could fit at. • We loved the big sectional couch and the rocking recliner. • Everything was clean. • Mattresses were comfortable. • Big SubZero fridge. The Not So Good • Only one bathroom is en suite. Each upstairs bathroom must be shared by two of the bedrooms. • The hobbit bathroom under the stairs doesn’t accommodate people over 6’. • There’s not a lot of counter space in the kitchen outside of the butcher block island. • The gas grill is a deteriorating mess. You can’t realistically cook on it. (Big disappointment.) • The fire pit is right under trees. You couldn’t have anything other than a tiny fire without risking setting things on fire. • The AC is insanely cold and noisy in the downstairs bedroom. Other rooms aren’t as cold. • No beach stuff – chairs, umbrellas, etc.... • The house exterior is a little beat up and in need of a paint job. • The oven’s controls are a little bizarre. The I Don’t Understands • There’s a shuffleboard court and no equipment to play on it.

dog friendly
This home was perfect for our family reunion. The fenced in backyard allowed all of us to visit without having our dog on a leash. The parking was able to accommodate all four of our cars. The beaches were walking distance and also dog friendly.

wonderful month-long stay at rewind on 11th
We had a lovely month-long stay at this home. It is spacious, comfortable and features retro charm with modern updates. The beach is less than 5 minutes away, just down the street, and Gould's Inlet is also very close. We enjoyed daily walks to see the morning sun. So nice to be able to bring our pup along. Restaurants and shopping are a short drive away. This is our second month-long stay with Emmons, and we will surely be back again! The Emmons staff is courteous and prompt should you need to reach them.

We stayed for a month in January and had a great time. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was nice and the back yard was great for our dogs with a fenced in area. The location was great, just a half block to the beach access. Would definitely stay again. We did have an issue with hot water but the management company took care of it as quickly as possible.

Perfect; loved the old home character especially the old natural wood. Bedrooms were large and loved the large kitchen. Porch was perfect for early morning coffee and for small children to play. Excellent in every way.

Our family had a wonderful vacation at SSI, staying at "Retreat Home" on 2032 Bruce Dr, booked with Emmons Realty. The house is ideally located in East Beach: very close to beach access, roomy spaces in a vintage house with wonderful modern updates, and a very enjoyable outdoor space on the property with a pool. We would highly recommend "Retreat Home" on 2032 Bruce Dr. and booking with Emmons Realty. We will be sure to do it again!

perfect vacation rental for families in the golden isles of ga
We recently stayed at the beautiful and well-restored home on Bruce Drive for a two-week vacation with our extended family. As first-time visitors to the Golden Isles of Georgia after living in the state for almost 30 years, we were thrilled with our stay and plan to return. The house was perfect for our family, and we loved the quiet neighborhood, which was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of Florida Gulf beaches. The house itself was spacious and beautiful, with comfortable beds and a fully stocked kitchen that had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the abundance of indoor and outdoor seating options that accommodated everyone. And the best part was the short two-block walk to the beach, which was a real highlight of our trip. Throughout our stay, Emmons Realty was great to work with. They even provided wood for the fire pit, which was a nice touch. Overall, we highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-stocked vacation rental in a great location. extended family vacation
The property description was accurate and very clean. Our family of 12 had plenty of space. We loved the large bedrooms and kitchen. The location was very convenient to the beach. Wagons make the the little trip through the forest (beach access) easier.we had only visited East Beach before, but Gould’s Inlet was beautiful! The pool was a bonus, but actually made our stay even better. Overall a great experience and we would come back. The only thing missing was wood for the fire pit and gas for the grill-if those things aren’t included (we assumed), then may want to add to description to provide your own.

This is a beautiful, well restored home. It was perfect for our extended family. This was our first visit to the Golden Isles of Georgia after living in Georgia for almost 30 years. Great house overall! We had two families and we had enough space for us all. We didn’t feel on top of each other. Our kids loved the little pool and it was nice that we were able to heat it. The fenced in part of the yard was also nice so we could bring our dog. Overall great house - we would stay again.

2021 family vacation
The house was just perfect for our family vacation. I would definitely recommend this property. Emmons Really was very helpful. The lights outside near the pool were not working and I called and they had an electrician out that day to fix them. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool. The screened in porch was very nice. Overall our stay was very nice.

most charming house ever!
This is the ultimate beach house! Not a drop of sheet rock in the place. 1930’s character throughout with wood walls, ceilings, floors + new kitchen & baths. Perfection. Makes us want to come back for bad weather and never have to leave the house. The pool is fantastic too. I could tell it was small from photos, and it is, but somehow that made it even better. Main bedroom opens to it as does the screened porch. A block to the beach through an enchanted mini-forest. If you appreciated old homes restored, you will love this place. If you need 5 true bedrooms, 3.5 baths near beach w/pool, you will love this place. Sandy beach area by pool makes it even better- true vacation feel. Great St Simons location- bike to everything.

would definitely stay again, for longer!
Our only regret is that we didn't book for a longer stay! The biggest advantage to this home is the proximity to the beach. The beach is under 5 minutes from the house. The layout of the house is very comfortable for big groups. Unfortunately, there were a couple storms while we were there, but we were able to hang in the pool until right when the storm hit so we could enjoy every minute.

review of rewind
Rewind is a great vacation rental and our family was very comfortable. The kitchen and appliances are all good and the beds are comfortable. We had a couple minor issues and maintenance was quickly responsive. The pool and outdoor shower were refreshing. Our one complaint concerns the window treatments in the upstairs master BR. They are worn out burlap that do not block any light whatsoever and are very dusty. All other bedrooms have blinds that look and perform much better. Maybe the owners will consider replacing these? Otherwise, it is a wonderful beach home.

very family friendly, great facility
The check-in is easy, the facility is nicely remodeled and has spacious common, dining and kitchen areas. The heated pool was a huge plus for our spring visit; it makes this a 3-season house instead of 1-season. It is close to the North end of Bruce Dr (good) and the beach access path is unique, lovely fern and tree canopy. One small issue was resolved quickly by property management, an excellent plus.

We enjoyed our stay very much. I found the management to be very accommodating of our needs. They touched base with us as soon as we arrived to check in with us and answer any questions that we had. The location of the home was close to the beach. We found the neighborhood to be cozy and enjoyed the backyard pool area very much. I will say the pool does not have a shallow end for the kids as a traditional pool. But, the heated option was one we enjoyed having. I would recommend this rental especially for larger parties as there was plenty of room for all.

wonderful place for a large group
This house provided a great space for our group of fourteen people ranging in age from eleven to eighty. The property manager was quick to respond when we called to say that we were short of plates. They were at our door within a few minutes with more plates. We later found that there were actually already enough plates, but we had not looked in the kitchen drawers for them, only in the cupboards- our fault! The pool was in constant use by our group and was a real plus. The house has ample space for all without feeling crowded and the beach access was great. We were delighted to see that the beach and the dunes looked healthier and more beautiful that we have experienced in a long while. We would love to come back to this house again.

The house is beautiful with the bathrooms and kitchen remodeled, while keeping the historic charm alive. The master bedroom downstairs needs a king sized bed though.

perfect spring break for three families
Three families (6 adults, 8 kids) spent our spring break together at Rewind on Eleventh and we would do it all over again (and just may next year!). Everyone had their own space to retreat but the gathering space was perfect. We cooked in the lovely kitchen and swam in the pool -- of course the kids' favorite part of the whole vacation! The beach is five houses away and an easy walk for even the littlest of our crew (three 3 year olds). The Emmons Realty staff was incredibly responsive to any questions or requests we had and checked in on us during our stay. Five stars for customer service, responsiveness, and accomodations. We travel and use VRBO and AirBnB a lot and this is at the top of our list for a family travel experience.

We had a blast! The house was perfect for a big group of women. We did everything from going to the beach, swimming in the pool, having a fire pit, cooking at the house, taking naps, going out to eat, etc. It was a beautiful and clean house with tons of room to spread out. Can’t wait to come back!

Lovely weekend despite the weather. Due to a strong nor eastern we were not able to take advantage of the outdoor amenities, but even with 10 ladies we had quite enough room and never felt crowded. The cottage has a lovely rustic feel but with updated kitchen and baths. The manager checked in with us twice but everything was fine. (Would suggest an improved wine opener ��). It was a beautiful short walk to the beach. We loved walking around the shops at the Village and the barbecue at Souls was so good, we ate there two days in a row!

three generation vacation on st. simons
The house was perfect for our family of nine adults, a three year old, two year old and baby. Plenty of space and a privacy. French doors between the living room and sleeping areas kept noise from reaching children asleep upstairs. Short walk to a part of the beach that felt very private. Great customer service.

This beautiful home was very roomy for our group of 12. While the kitchen is large and updated the whole home retains the character of an older time. It is easily convenient to 3 locations on the beach. It is very comfortably furnished throughout. They have 2 bikes in the garage, but the red wagon was the biggest hit for the beach trips. We had no need to contact the property management as their online setup is so easy.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Bruce Drive. It was clean and well equipped. They even provided wood for the fire pit! We were impressed with the facilities and management was very responsive when we had difficulty with remote controls-our fault. Good stay!

a great family vacation
There were 14 of us, 6 children 7 and under, and 8 adults. The house was a perfect fit for all of us. Each family had a bedroom and one bedroom for several of the kids. The house was clean and check in and out was no trouble. The pool was the highlight of the trip. It was small but just right for the children and the adults to play. The beach was a short walk from the house and the wagon provided helped to get all the supplies to the beach. The beach was great. Never very meany people on the beach. Restaurants were close by and the pier was a short drive away. Overall, we had a great week!!!

fantastic vacation
We had a wonderful experience with Emmons Realty. They were very helpful and great to work with. We have rented several homes through the VRBO website and this property did not disappoint!!! It was a half a block away from the beach path and a 5 minute drive to the main strip for a wonderful seafood dinner. We had two families and two dogs and there was more than enough room in the house and outside on the patio! We plan on visiting again!!
