A heated pool changes how a stay actually feels — especially outside peak summer.
On St. Simons Island, that often means swimming later in the day, using the pool when the air cools off, or simply having the option when the weather isn’t perfect. Some homes offer private heated pools. Some communities heat their pools seasonally. This page lays out both, clearly, so you know exactly what you’re booking.
If warm water matters to your trip, start here.

First, the honest truth about “heated pool” on St. Simons
“Heated pool” usually means one of two setups:
- Private pool heat at a home (optional and property-specific)
- A community pool that is heated seasonally (dates and schedules vary)
What guests usually misunderstand
Heated pools aren’t all the same. Private pools are typically more predictable because they’re controlled by the home. Community pools may be heated only during certain periods. Also: “heated” doesn’t always mean “hot tub warm” — outdoor water still depends on weather, wind, and pool size.
Where heated pools show up most often
Heated community pool favorites
- Ocean Walk — two pools, including a heated lagoon pool, and an easy walk to Pier Village.
- Coast Cottages — a heated oceanfront pool that is typically seasonal/scheduled (often weekends during cooler months or holiday weeks; other days may be possible for a small fee).
Private heated pool homes
If you want the “open the door, swim” version of life, start with Private Pool rentals.
Heated pool booking rules that actually matter
- Request heat early if it matters — don’t wait until the night before arrival.
- Expect variation — pool size and weather affect how warm it feels.
- Read the listing details — fees and policies are property-specific.

Are heated pools available year-round?
Some private pools can be heated any time (property-specific). Community pools are often heated seasonally or on a schedule. Always check the listing details for your dates.
Do I need to request pool heat in advance?
If a home offers optional pool heat, request it as early as possible — ideally at booking. Some systems need lead time to reach a comfortable temperature.
Is a heated pool always private?
No. Some heated pools are private backyard pools, while others are community pools heated seasonally. This page includes both, so you can choose the setup that fits your trip.
